Stopped here en route to Mulberry House. Inside seating plentiful but noisy. Dining within view of lake ducks was novel. Prompt table service. Food well presented and seasoned. Steak Sanger very fresh, albeit a tad rare. Risotto loaded with fresh mushrooms. A hidden gem worth the detour.
I was amazed by the food and just the general vibe. It will become a new regular spot for us. We went on rib night got the share plate. Maybe one or 2 extra chicken wings wouldn't go a miss. But saying that we didn't get entrees.
Really nice coffee and huge meals at decent prices. The smashed avo was delicious and extra bacon added on was a large amount... though not quite crispy enough for my liking. The staff were friendly, quick to serve and meals came out quickly. I appreciate that the inside is not cramped with tables and they offer and nice outdoor area to bring your pets along.
Great little local Cafe.
Food was delicious, range of treats to choose from and amazing coffee.
Service was prompt and clear, it was a busy morning when we had gone but were served quite quickly.
Atmosphere is good, inside is quite noisy especially with lots of families coming to dine. However there is a nice outdoor section to sit in if you prefer something quieter and on a cold day there isn't too many people out there. Very family friendly and a beautiful lake right across the road. The Cafe vibe is very friendly, welcoming and definitely a spot you could call your local.
Lovely cafe. The staff are always lovely and food is so fresh. My only complaint is the hot chocolate was a bit milky and warm.
I had the BLAT focaccia asked for no bacon but added cheese.
The bread is so fresh, soft but enough crunch and the ingredients as really fresh and great quality.
Open-planned cafe with windows facing Shaxton Reserve so you can watch the ducks being ducks. Staff were friendly, quick to serve and efficient. I watched a waitress walk 2 full-to-the-brim coffees outside, manoeuvring the heavy front door without her hands, without spilling a drop of coffee. Very skilled! Plenty of parking at the back and seating outside at the front. Our meals were cooked well, a decent size and care was taken with presentation. Would recommend the Berry Banana Pancakes.
Scrolling through local café listings in the area I came across the RAC and decided to give it a shot. I noticed plenty of locals seated outdoors which was a positive sign, we walked in and waited to be seated.
The waitress allowed us to choose our own table and promptly brought over house water and menus. Offered to order drinks shortly after so the service was duly appreciated.
I had the scrambled eggs with confit mushrooms and my partner the eggs oceanic. Both meals came out quickly, modest dish sizes and well presented. The dining area inside was quite noisy and with plenty of people traffic for takeaway coffee, I'd suggest dining outside in future.
I've been here 3 times in the past 4 weeks. It's not going to disappoint and make sure to look at the specials board.
Pros:
*The food is consistently good
*Every time I have been here the staff have been very friendly and proactive
*Coffee is ok
*Cafe and toilets are clean
*Pretty view
*Loads of parking
Cons:
*Coffee could be improved to be amazing
